This September we'll be running the Chennai Trekkers trail marathon for Kumar and we're inviting you to join us!

Our 5 day programme, from 7 - 12 September, will include visits to our main projects in India so that you can see first-hand the work we do. The trip will include accommodation in a group house, delicious home-cooked Indian food, group yoga sessions and the opportunity to take part in the Chennai Trail Half and Full Marathon!

During the tour you will find out all about the My Name is Kumar projects and have the opportunity to understand the positive impact of your support as donors and child sponsors.

The below itinerary is meant to give you an idea of what the tour will entail, however the programme is likely to change before September.

Important info and FAQs

+ When will the tour take place?

You will need to arrive in Chennai on 6th September. You'll spend the first night in Chennai and the tour begins on the 7th.

+ Who can join?

Spaces are available to any of our long time supporters or child sponsors. Email with questions regarding eligibility.

+ How much does the tour cost?

The tour costs £300, which will cover all of our running costs. Because we are organising this ourselves, any excess will go directly towards our projects. Don't worry if you use Euros, Dollars or any other currency - we'll still be able to process the payment via PayPal.

+ What's included?

Your registration fee covers the bulk of your time in India.
What’s included:
• Accommodation
• All group meals
• Your race fee
• A My Name is Kumar race shirt
• Group yoga sessions
• Airport transfer (one-way) and all group transport during the tour

What’s not included:

+ How much do I have to fundraise?

As a participant on the tour we ask you to set a fundraising goal to raise funds amongst your friends, family and colleagues. All the money you raise will go directly to the projects you visit in India – so you’ll be able to send reports back to donors directly from the field!

We've set a minimum fundraising target of £400 / €475 / $500 per person, but we would encourage you to be ambitious and set your own personal target. However, you won't be on your own and we'll be on hand every step of the way to help support your fundraising work. We even have a special fundraising guide with lots of advice and ideas to help you get started. Any questions or support regarding fundraising, please email
